SKU ER-1-ENAMEL-RATER Category

The ER-1 Enamel Rater is designed to ensure the integrity of internal coatings in cans, offering precise and rapid measurements essential for quality control in the food and beverage packaging industry.

Accurate Coating Measurement:

The ER-1 Enamel Rater measures the integrity of enamel coatings inside containers with high accuracy. The device automatically begins the measurement when the electrical probe contacts the solution, providing consistent and reliable results.

User-Friendly Interface:

Equipped with a 7” LCD touchscreen, the ER-1 is easy to operate. It supports various measurement modes, including a 4-second mode, continuous mode, and user-defined mode, making it adaptable to different testing requirements.

Durable and Versatile:

Built for durability, the ER-1 is suitable for testing a wide range of containers, including 2-piece cans, 3-piece cans, aerosol cans, tubes, and various covers. It also features an RS232 output for efficient data management.

Measuring Principle:

The ER-1 applies a constant micro-voltage across the can’s body and an electrode immersed in an electrolyte-filled container, measuring the resulting current. The device operates at a voltage of 6.3 V DC and has a measurement range of 0 to 300 milliamps with a resolution of 0.01 milliampere.

The cover support includes a container mounted on a pivot, with a beveled cup that seals tightly on the can cover. The electrode and vacuum connection are mounted on the base. A valve for creating a vacuum and a movable arm complete the electrical circuit when the assembly is inverted.

Measuring Modes:

  • 4-Second Mode: Displays the reading only at the 4-second mark.
  • Continuous Mode: Displays the changing current throughout the measurement period, stopping only at the operator’s command.
  • User-Defined Mode: Displays the reading at a specific time set by the operator.

Features:

  • Tests the enamel coating coverage inside cans, tubes, aerosols, and various covers.
  • Displays an index indicating the amount of metal exposed due to incomplete enamel coverage.
  • Integrated 7” LCD touchscreen with a user-friendly interface for easy operation.
  • Capable of storing operator, product, sample, and batch numbers.
